Introductions -- Take 2

Hi everyone -- Happy New Year! We have a lot of new members to the group and I think it would be helpful to meet everyone! Can you post a quick intro to this message in the Group. Helpful info to include: where you teach, what grade(s), what do you think about teaching 21st Century Skills?

It's not hard .. I'll go first:
My name is Alysia Clancy and I am the moderator of this TeachAde Group. I have my Masters Degree in Educational Technology and worked at AOL for more then 5 years on their Web-based AOL@SCHOOL. It was a wonderful opportunity, but it sometimes was a big eye-opener too. I think people in the technology and media industries have a very different perception of what's really like to be a teacher, and they are creating online products that don't address some basic needs .. addressing standards, that students (or whole schools) have to share technology resources, etc.

I'm hoping that thru social networking opportunities like TeachAde thoughtful professionals can openly talk about what is working, and what is not, in terms of teaching 21st Century Skills.
