As a parent I have never liked Everyday Math. It seems to always have one of my children in tears because mom and dad do not understand it....and when we try to show them how to solve the problem the way we know, you know the old style math, the tears flow faster because they are going to get in trouble from the teacher for not doing the problem correctly. However....as a teacher I am neutral on the subject. I will be student teaching this fall in a district that uses this math program. I am attending a training/inservice on Everyday Math at the end of the month.....I'll get back with you after my training.
