Environmental Science Issues

Bishop O'Dowd High School, where I work, has a living lab that extends the classroom learning. I would like to hear form others who have used similar outdoor education areas to teach this topic.

I just check out this site that was posted http://www.enature.com. It really has some great resources on it. I wanted to add to this by posting another cool site. This is from the San Francisco Exploratorium. http://www.exploratorium.edu/learning_studio/cool/environmental.html. This site has links to other great environmental learning sites.

Hi Joy - By Living Lab- ponds, streams woods that surround the school? Not sure what you mean? At Dover High school we have woods, pond and streams. Great variety of trees for leaf identificaiton and many organisms ranging from microscopic to large that surrounds and are found in the pond. Good web site for pond study:

I am not sure if I added to your response on this one.

I wlll get the teacher at my school who teaches with the lab to write back to you in here. The lab is outside at the back of the school. It is gated and they have picnic tables (lab benches) and growing areas. I will get more info for you. I think I shared this site earlier, but really like these watershed info.
