Mindscreen Film Institute was founded by Rajiv Menon, an acclaimed Indian cinematographer and filmmaker in the Indian Advertising and Movies industry. The Film Institute draws upon decades of experience and success of Rajiv Menon and his film productions and equipment rental company, Mindscreen.
Mindscreen Film equipment company has been in the business for over two decades and provided the film industry with state-of-the-art Arriflex 435 Advanced equipped with Hawk anamorphic and Ziess ultraprime lenses supported by a full complement of lights and grip equipments. Panther Dolly, Jimmy jib cranes, an array of Tungsten and flicker free HMI lights and Kino banks powered by a fleet of silent generator trucks are additional facilities available to the clients.
Run by a team of senior professionals, Mind screen Film Institute takes pride in having been the training ground for some of the best talent in the film industry today. Award winning cinematographers and directors like Ravi K. Chandran, Rajasekhar, Ratnavelu and Gautam Menon have worked with and trained under Rajiv Menon during their formative years.
Mindscreen Film Institute, a Film school for Cinematography started in July, 2006 aims to train students both on the theoretical and operational aspects of filmmaking with specialization in Cinematography making use of the latest state-of-the-art of all camera equipments and facilities available on campus.

This group is for educators to join and share ideas on how they are celebrating Veteran's Day. My students asked me why they must attend school on this special holiday? I asked them how many of them were veterans and how should they be honored? There was no response. It gave me a great segway into how special this day is and how we should honor Veterans and soldiers serving today. Do you have some great ideas? Please share them with the group! Happy Veteran's Day to all of our soldiers - past, present and future!

Fundamental Concepts in Brain-Based Teaching
Brain-based research has resulted in several principles of learning that form the underlying principles of brain-based educational practices. We now know that all learning is mind-body, and attention cycles, movement, food, and chemicals all impact on learning. People learn best in a social setting, and as they seek out meaning they use their emotions to form patterns, pay attention, and remember material. The brain stores information in several areas, and this information can be accessed through multiple pathways. In addition, the brain can carry out a number of activities simultaneously.
Incorporating Newer Educational Concepts
The classroom of today is different from the classroom of several years ago. Students now learn in cooperative groups, and they are given problems to work on. Teachers attempt to give students practical simulations that mimic real life, therefore making the learning experience more meaningful. In addition, educators take into consideration multiple intelligences, recognizing that although some are visual learners, others may do better with educational experiences that play into intelligences such as interpersonal, intrapersonal, kinesthetic (movement), linguistic, logical, musical, and naturalistic. Experiential learning, in which the learning is initiated by the student and is relevant to his or her life, is also used in the classroom. All of these methods are based on our current understanding of how the brain functions and learns. (Penn, nd)
